Childhood Trauma And Its Influence On Adulthood

WHAT IS CHILDHOOD TRAUMA:

When we talk about mental health related problems, we mostly focus on depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and so on in the present moment of life.We are often forgetful about the traumas we face as a kid or teen which shapes us as an adult and how it resonates with our thoughts as an adult.Childhood traumas can include sexual abuse, mental abuse, abandonment, physical abuse, neglect-ion from family or even witnessing abuse within the family members as an underaged individual. Traumas like these can teach us how to be in this world and what relationships are like.It can also make family, friends and activities difficult because they remind us of past pain.Trauma can manifest itself in many ways and often have a high impact on an individuals life.

HOW AND WHY WOULD CHILDHOOD TRAUMA AFFECT US AS AN ADULT:

Human relationships are hard and it gets harder when we have our past years taunting them as well. For instance when a child witnesses one of their parents abusing the other one physically or mentally it creates a fear in their heart of being in the samecycle. Thus they seem to always run away from emotional attachments and romantic relationships. Again when a child was sexually abused as a kid they tend to have major trust issues and lack of self confidence which again affects all of their future relationships and how they perceive the world as an individual.some times traumas can also cause from unintentional behaviours of parents though
they may not realise it .Such as making all of their Childs decision at a point that they do not feel confident enough to come up with their own decisions and as a result they suffer from lack of self confidence.
Most of the time these individuals find it hard to have control over their emotions and feelings and often times they prefer not to talk to anyone about them which actually makes things worse as the years pass by.
Kids suffering from these types of tantrums can have a huge effect on their personality. They may build up characters like the need of people pleasing or the fear of being vulnerable and honest.

HEALING INNER CHILD IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS TAKING CARE OF ONES HEALTH:

THERAPY!! THERAPY!! THERAPY!!
For some reason even when we're living in the 21st century, going to the therapy is still a taboo in many countries including ours.People do not seem to care about their mental health as they do for their physical health.Society always seem to criticise the people who ask for help. They like to put label on the people who seek professional help as 'maniacs'. but the first and foremost task in order to deal with these traumas is to seek help. Talking to professionals and experienced therapists can help people so much to  heal the inner child.Therapists and counsellors can help the patients to deal and process the emotions which causes such drastic effects on an individual.
