Mental health is one of the major issues at present . It includes stress, anxiety, depression and psychotic disorders. We wanted to address this issue because we always neglect it. Mental health is all about how we handle our stress. We saw that many people think depression is just a show off, it's nothing serious. But the person who is mentally stressed knows the struggle he or she is going through. He or she don't have anyone to share their problems they are going through. When they seek help from any medical institutions they have to hear taunts from the people around them. In most cases ,the people suffering from mental disorders face anger, anxiety and mood disorders. Sometimes it affects their eating and sleeping habits. Which causes them to lose weight . Depression is the most severe and common mental health problem. It leads to suicide sometimes . it occurs due to past traumas, death of near ones, negative social comments etc. . Anxiety is another common mental disorder . It is the repeated attack of fear of something bad . Schizophrenia is another type of disorder which we face everyday but we don't acknowledge that as an illness. It is the inability to distinguish reality . This type of mental illness are the reasons for our sudden mood swings , eating disorders ,sleeping disorders and anger .This mental illness needs to be treated . But in most cases we always listen to what others think .When society talks negatively about mental illness we negatively , we give up our treatment.
Five ways to improve our mental health problems:
STUDY STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES
Stress is an unavoidable part of life, whether we like it or not. As a stress reliever, try One-Minute Stress Strategies, Tai Chi, exercise, a nature walk, playing with your pet, or journal writing. Also, remember to laugh and see the humors in life. Laughter has been shown in studies to boost the immune system, relieve pain, relax the body, and reduce stress.
EMBRACE A GOOD-HEARTED COMMUNITY
People who have strong family or social connections are generally healthier than those who do not have a support network. Make plans with supportive family and friends, or look for activities where you can meet new people, such as a club, class, or support group.
TAKE PROPER CARE OF YOUR HEALTH
Your physical well-being can help your emotional wellbeing. Make sure to:
Consume healthful meals.
Stay away from smoking and vaping; see cessation Help
Frequently consume water.
Exercise improves spirits and reduces anxiety and sadness
Take time to rest. Lack of sleep, according to researchers, may be a factor in college students' propensity for depression.
SET ATTAINABLE GOALS
Determine your academic, professional, and personal goals, and then list the measures you must take to accomplish them. Aim high, yet remain grounded and avoid overcommitting. As you go closer to your objective, you'll experience a fantastic sense of pride in yourself. You can set goals and maintain them with the free wellness coaching available to University of Michigan students.
GET HELP WHEN YOU REQUIRE IT
Asking for help is a sign of strength, not of weakness. Additionally, it's critical to keep in mind that treatment works. People who receive the right care can overcome mental illness and addiction and enjoy fulfilling lives. Campus and community resources are listed under Resources for Stress and Mental Health.
